Over-voltage protection device

I have a DC motor running at 250V DC and it has a thermister switch wound into the windings. The Thermister circuit is fed 24V DC and the return sets an input in a PLC.

On two occasions now, 250V DC has fed back into the 24V DC circuit causing catastophic failure of most 24V DC componants.

What can I use as a safety circuit or voltage blocking device to protect the 24v DC circuit in the event of 250V DV being fed onto it?
